Coach and activity tracker for weightlifters
After signing in, they are asked to plan their work out for the day. That includes selecting one or more muscle groups, selecting the machines available for working out those groups (preferably in the sequence they will be using them), and then entering the number of sets for each machine. In the process, they can see the number of machines available for each muscle group, traffic at the gym, and the current wait time for each machine.
Once the users turn the sound coach on from the physical interface on each machine as shown below, the app acts as a visual counterpart for the coach's instructions. The user receives a notification and instructions about how much rest to take, how much weight to lift, how much power and velocity to use. The graphic information is accompanied by a set of beeps that the user can listen to using earphones. These beeps instruct the user to maintain the speed of the lift for each rep. The user can end the workout and is presented with a summary upon doing so.
